Adult Bible Study Curriculum Adult Bible Study Ministry Training Lesson 3- Cast the Vision
Again in this stage it is about the vision God has given you for your group and/or your ministry. Granted this vision is a little more concrete now as you have have formulated a plan and have begun taking steps to work that plan. This lesson discusses another one of the important steps that you must take in order to see that your plan is implemented and that your adult bible study ministry is powerful and effective. You must cast the vision you have for the ministry. You need to share it with your staff, your small group, your church, your volunteers and leadership teams. Anyone you can find who will listen and could be a part of this needs to hear the vision you have. They need to know what their role is in the vision. They need to know why you have formulated the plan you have, why you have chosen the adult bible study curriculum you have, and what role they play in all of it. This serves two purposes. One is that the people in your group get some buy in as they understand the part they can play. They also have a clear cut plan for what they need to be doing. I think the benefits to this are fairly obvious. You have chosen the plan you have for a reason but people are not going to be able to follow it if they do not know what they are supposed to be doing. The second part to all of this is that people get excited. You may not feel comfortable in this but your job in this stage is to be a salesman. You need to share your passion and get others to begin to carry some of the same passion. They need to get passionate about making the groups look the way you have envisioned. They need to get passionate about the adult bible study curriculum they will be going through. They need to get passionate about reaching the community around them and growing their groups. The only way this is going to happen is if you share the vision in such a way that hearts are stirred and people buy in. You may have to remind them of the vision along the way and that is okay. Right now you just need the initial boost so your group and/or ministry can have a good launch. One word of caution. If you are going to make some changes to the way you have "always done things," you may want to be prepared for some backlash. People do not always like changed. But if you have planned properly and sale your vision correctly I think you will find you can avoid many of these issues. So today your job is to find the right times and places to cast your vision to all of those that will be involved in your ministry.
